Cedric Moos is a jazz guitarist and composer from Solothurn.
With his quintet he played mainly concerts in Switzerland between 2016 - 2018.
The quintet interpreted the compositions of Cedric Moos which are stylistically between Bebop/Hardbop -the Modern Jazz.
CD publications followed: "Statement" and "Bygone".
In spring 2019 a live recording "Quintet: The Jukebox Session live" was recorded.
Furthermore, Cedric Moos was always active with his "Standards Trio".
The current Quartet formation with
Tobias Künzli (Piano), Francesco Losavio (Double Bass) and Dominik Hoyer, released in 2020 the first studio album
"Fields of Light" followed by a live recording "Quartet Live" in 2022.
While Radio Swiss Jazz has repeatedly featured releases by Cedric Moos, two compositions from "Fields of Light" found their way into the following TV series:

Quiet Room, contains eleven new compositions written during the pandemic. Each composition appears like a window to temporarily inaccessible places.
In this "Quiet Room" foreign places can be traveled through these windows.
Stylistically, the new album of Cedric Moos and his quartet moves in the "contemporary jazz". It represents a continuation of the new sound spectrum of the previous album recorded by the same line-up - "Fields of Light".
As on previous releases, influences of South American rhythms,
(Dry Martini, If) are noticeable. Also "Bop" still forms a well-founded part in the DNA of both some compositions (Chamber Art) and guitar playing.
Songs like "Saint-Tropez", "A garden in the shade" and "With a wave of her hand" show new compositional approaches. Harmonic and melodic ideas whose roots are more in pop/rock (Beatles, Pink Floyd). Songs that are a balancing act between complexity and still audible catchiness.
Each composition offers room for improvisation and innovation of the musicians: Tobias Künzli (piano), Francesco Losavio (double bass) and Dominik Hoyer.
The album was recorded during two days in the hot summer month of August 2022.
