Nicolas Ziliotto

In 2019, Nicolas Ziliotto, 20-year-old French jazz pianist with Greek, Italian and South African roots, brings together his two friends and colleagues, drummer Axel Lussiez and bass player Cyril Billot, giving birth to this trio.
Nicolas composes a series of arrangements of his compositions for jazz trio and string quartet. This delicate mix of styles and timbres allows him to fully express his musical identity revealing a kind of Jazz influenced by French Impressionism, Hip-Hop, or Pop music. The trio meets regularly, and musical affinities develop naturally and quickly.
The project was able to convince its audience, selecting or winning various competitions: In July 2020, the trio was revealed First Prize of the Tremplin Cosmo Jazz Festival 2020. The same year, it was selected to participate in the prestigious ZKB Jazz-Preis 2020 competition which took place at the Jazz Club le Moods (Zurich) in September.
The band also won the Jazzcontreband Competition in 2021.
Since its creation in 2019, the project has already performed on numerous occasions, a few times as a trio, and more generally with the string quartet. We could find the group in Lyon (La Clé de Voute, Le Hot Club), in Lausanne (Chorus Jazz Club, Les Faux Nez, Holzofen Jazz Club, BCV Concert Hall), Clermont-Ferrand, and more to come.

2019 bringt Nicolas Ziliotto, 20-jähriger französischer Jazzpianist mit griechischen, italienischen und südafrikanischen Wurzeln, seine beiden Freunde und Kollegen, den Schlagzeuger Axel Lussiez und den Bassisten Cyril Billot, zusammen und gründet dieses Trio.
