The Shy Boys

And indeed, the "shy boys", who on closer inspection turn out to be rather seasoned men, move seemingly effortlessly, casually and stylistically confidently through Latin, Caribbean and swinging rhythms, through jazzy elegant melodies and relaxed to daring improvisations. In the current program they present their new album "Perceptions of California", which in ten original compositions tells euphoric to melancholic and occasionally self-deprecating stories of true and deceptive perceptions, travels, dreams, places of longing, relationships and fading memories.

But that's not all: through humorous moderation and anecdotes, The Shy Boys take their audience on their musical journey in their own way mostly ironic, occasionally also simply informative, but always authentic. For all their virtuosic joy in playing, they also impress with their subtle entertainment. The fact that they don't take themselves too seriously also provides plenty of sympathy points.

Im aktuellen Programm stellen sie ihr neues Album „Perceptions of California“ vor, das in zehn eigenen Kompositionen euphorisch bis melancholisch und gelegentlich auch selbstironisch von zutreffenden und trügerischen Wahrnehmungen, Reisen, Träumen, Sehnsuchtsorten, Beziehungen und verblassenden Erinnerungen erzählt.
