Despite their geographical dispersion, their different experiences and musical backgrounds come together on their second release “morfosis”. Recorded in May 2022 after tours in Switzerland and New York, the album captures the essence of their collective creativity. “morfosis” embodies a multi-layered and pleasurable play with organic processes of change and development. A common metamorphosis is evident in every composition: be it in the structures of the sounds, the harmonic concepts or the collective improvisations. The title piece “morfosis” stands as an exposition at the beginning and reappears between the other compositions as abstract interventions “morfosis meta”.
The result is a coherent album that reflects the collaborative synergy of the entire ensemble. In addition to original compositions by all band members, the album is characterized by collective improvisations and subtle electronic elements that expand the band's original acoustic sound.

The band “emitime” was founded in October 2019 in Brooklyn, where Argentinian pianist Santiago Leibson, bassist Santiago Lamisovski and Swiss drummer Samir Böhringer first met as a trio. With their shared influences from modern jazz, chamber music and free improvisation, they laid the foundations for an exciting collaboration. The Swiss tenor saxophonist Tobias Pfister, a long-time companion of drummer Samir Böhringer and acquaintance of Leibson, seamlessly joined the group and completed it. Since then, the band has played several concerts together in Europe and New York, recorded two albums and met regularly via video call. A creative long-distance relationship that is continuously working on a common future.

Trotz ihrer geografischen Streuung vereinen sich ihre unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen und musikalischen Hintergründe auf ihrer zweiten Veröffentlichung „morfosis“. Das Album wurde nach Tourneen in der Schweiz und in New York im Mai 2022 aufgenommen und fängt die Essenz ihrer gemeinsamen Kreativität ein. “morfosis” verkörpert ein vielschichtiges und lustvolles Spiel mit organischen Veränderungsprozessen und Entwicklungen. Jeder Komposition entgeht eine gemeinsame Metamorphose: Sei es in den Strukturen der Klänge, den harmonischen Konzepten oder den kollektiven Improvisationen. Das Titelstück “morfosis” steht als exposition am Anfang und taucht zwischen den anderen Kompositionen als abstrahierte Interventionen “morfosis meta” wieder auf.
So entstand ein zusammenhängendes Album, das die kollaborative Synergie des gesamten Ensembles widerspiegelt. Das Album ist neben Eigenkompositionen von allen Bandmitgliedern, geprägt von kollektiven Improvisationen und feinen, elektronischen Elementen, die den ursprünglichen akustischen Sound der Band erweitern.

Die Band “emitime” wurde im Oktober 2019 in Brooklyn gegründet, wo sich der argentinische Pianist Santiago Leibson, der Bassist Santiago Lamisovski und der Schweizer Schlagzeuger Samir Böhringer erstmals als Trio trafen. Sie legten mit ihren gemeinsamen Einflüssen aus Modern Jazz, Kammermusik und freier Improvisation den Grundstein für eine spannende Zusammenarbeit. Der Schweizer Tenorsaxophonist Tobias Pfister, ein langjähriger Weggefährte des Schlagzeugers Samir Böhringer und Bekannter von Leibson, fügte sich nahtlos in die Gruppe ein und vervollständigte sie. Seither spielte die Band mehrere Konzerte zusammen in Europa und New York, nahm zwei Alben auf und traf sich regelmässig per Video-Call. Eine kreative Fernbeziehung, die kontinuierlich an einer gemeinsamen Zukunft Arbeitet.
